Riley Scott is now 7 weeks old and was 11lbs, 14oz two days ago. He puts on weight pretty fast so he's probably at least 12lbs now. We may not keep this that updated, but we thought it would be a fun way to let our families get updates on Riley (things we may forget to tell them). Riley is such a precious baby. He really likes to be held all of the time, and so we don't get much done. Since we waited so long to have a baby, we really don't mind that too much. I'm really enjoying the mommy-baby bond and love to see Riley playing with his daddy.
Riley's really enjoying his mobile. It has two turtles, a snail and a frog. He watches them all go in a circle, but he really seems to prefer the frog. Every morning (which is his super happy time), his daddy will crank up the mobile. Riley gets a huge smile on his face and starts talking and laughing at the frog. Scott videotaped him doing this and then played it back to Riley later. Riley watched himself on the camera just mesmerized. Whenever he would hear himself babbling on the camera, he would start talking to himself. It was so cute. He likes the mobile on his Pack 'n Play too, even though it's kind of boring. It doesn't move and it's just tan bears. He talks to it when he's awake, but if we have put him down for a nap (which isn't long if we've put him down) and he wakes up, he gets scared of his bear mobile. It was really scary for me when he first woke up with his frightened cries. Now we take it down if we put him in the Pack 'n Play. It seems to help.
