Clapping

Riley was 19lbs 7oz today (19lbs 3.5oz last week). With the addition of cereal and baby food, he's finally cut back to 9-10 nursing sessions per day instead of the TWELVE that he had worked up to. On Tuesday, we introduced sweet peas. He eats them, but I don't think he particularly likes them. He still isn't sleeping through the night, but from what I hear, most breastfed babies don't until they are a year old or until they can roll onto their tummies at night.

Yesterday, we were trying to teach Riley to clap. He kept trying to imitate us, but the best he could do was to throw both arms down at an angle toward each other. He wasn't even close to clapping, but you could tell he was definitely trying. It was so cute!! We tried to get it on video, but then he was too distracted by the video camera.
Riley was originally on his back and then flipped his lower half (in the picture below), he just wouldn't move that right arm to completely roll over. I think he doesn't want to roll. Another mom in my group said her 11-month-old still does this and will not roll over all the way.

Close to clapping!!! Such a big boy! You'll get it down before you know it.

(Oh and Riley, Daddy wasn't a great pea eater either :).

Love you, Grandma
