Six months old

We've had a busy few days. Last Friday, we drove to Columbus to spend the evening and half of Saturday with Riley's Bebe (Robin's mom). We got to see Uncle John Thomas and Tatum again both days. Saturday afternoon, Riley and I headed to Atlanta to pick up Scott from the airport. Riley was so happy to see his daddy. He slept much better that night too. Yesterday, Riley turned six months old. We can't believe how quickly it has gone by. Since he's now six months, we gave him his first baby food yesterday - rice cereal. He really liked it. It was pretty watery (I was using the directions on the package for the first meal). He lapped every bit of it up, and most of it made it's mark. Today we had his doctor's appointment and learned that we could make it with a grits-like consistency. I wasn't sure he was going to like it as much or that he wouldn't eat as much since it was thicker. We fed him a little bit ago, and he ate all of it up again (just over 1/4 cup total). At the doctor's he was 19lbs and 26 3/4 inches long. His weight is in the 75th-90th percentile and his length is in the 50th-75th percentile.

He loved this bird.

Picking up Daddy from the airport.

First bite.

He kept helping me. Actually, grabbing it and jamming it into his mouth. I think he likes it!

Enjoying today's thicker meal.

Good boy, Riley! Grandma is so glad to hear that you are not only eating ALL of your rice cereal, you are helping mommy feed you.

Keep smiling, my little Riley-man.

Love you, Grandma
